A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU – A piece of Guild history to own a chair/chairs belonging to the Mary Erskine Former Pupils’ Guild, currently at Ravelston.
Over many decades there was a Guild Room at Queen Street then Ravelston and the following chairs have all been in frequent use. More recently, some of these items have been used in the Principal’s study and waiting area, while others have been on display or stored elsewhere.
There are huge demands on space at Mary Erskine and the Principal and Head of school have the difficult job of trying to balance modernisation while retaining the importance of the school’s history. Some of the chairs are not very strong and take up space. A number of them are in the Undercroft, where the school could utilise the storage space. The Committee is assisting the school and wish to pass these on. Their condition varies with some requiring some TLC. This a unique opportunity for Former Pupils to obtain a piece of Guild history for a donation to the Guild archives which would be greatly appreciated.
If you are interested in any of these chairs and wish to view, please contact the Guild at fpguild@esms.org.uk.
